Our Very Own Dihan Dhamika Inshan recently received the international award in the Architectural Category for his project titled, ‘Waste Upcycling Park and Wetland Awareness Center’ at the Asia Young Designer Awards. Earlier, he became the Sri Lanka Gold Winner in the Architectural Category. Entries from fifteen countries including China, Japan, India, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand competed for this top award for young architectural and interior design category in Asia.
More than 35,000 entries from over 1,200 tertiary education institutions across 16 different geographical locations in Asia were received for this competition. The Judges in the AYDA 2021/22 International Architectural Category were Ezumi Harzani Ismail, Director, Arkitek Maa Sdn Bhd; Kazuma Yamao, Founding Partner, Waiwai; Nicholas Ho, Chairman, Ho & Partners Architects; Paul Noritaka Tange, Chairman, Tange Associates; and Ravi Sarangan, Director, Edifice.
We congratulate Dihan for winning this award for Sri Lanka in this international platform. This is one of Asia’s premier design awards and we look forward to more talented young designers from CSA winning in different categories in the years to come
