Awards, Scholarships and Bursaries
SCHOLARSHIPS & BURSARIES
The City School of Architecture offers a scholarship to the student achieving the Overall Best Performance (highest aggregate marks in Design & Theory Subjects) at the CSA Diploma in Architectural Studies. A weightage of 1000 marks for design and theory subjects is applied when deciding the aggregate marks. (Refer CSA Awards & Bursaries Handbook)
The scholarship student would buy essay and have his/her course fees waived for the CSA–Part II years of study (Years 5,6 & 7). All other expenses related to the study and Examination Fees would have to be borne by the student. Two other partial scholarships – one on academic merit and the other on academic merit and financial need is offered through to students depending on their performance at the CSA Diploma in Architectural Studies
Continuation of the Scholarship
Students receiving CSA scholarships would have to continue to maintain above 65% marks in Design and the aggregate marks for Design and Theory Subjects for continuation of the scholarship funds for successive years. (Refer CSA Awards & Bursaries Handbook)
The Board of City School of Architecture (Colombo) Ltd has a Bursary Scheme to assist students in financial difficulty on a full or partial basis. Students with good academic records who wish to avail themselves of this facility, should make an application in writing in the prescribed form through the Head of School to the Chairperson – Awards & Bursary Committee, one month prior to the commencement of the academic year for which such facility is requested. Reasons for such a request should be stated and substantiated with documentary evidence.

CSA Award Ceremony to be held annually will honour students who have excelled in their academic work during a year of study. The awards given are classified as follows:
CSA Design Awards
Award to the student who has maintained the highest Design and Architectural Studies average at the Portfolio Examination in each year of study.
CSA Best Overall Student Awards
Award to the student who has maintained the highest average of the cumulative total of Design, Architectural Studies and Theory Subjects in each year of study.
CSA Research Award
Award to the student who has maintained the highest average for the Dissertation in the CSA Higher Diploma Course.
Award to the best student of CSA in the final year of the CSA Part II/Higher Diploma Course who has maintained the highest average for Design, Architectural Studies and Theory Subjects in all years of study of the CSA Part I/Diploma Course and CSA Part II/Higher Diploma Course Portfolio Examinations, Sessional Written Examination and the CSA Internal Assessment of CDP. The student should have also contributed to CSA by part taking and assisting in CSA activities.
The Sri Lanka Institute of Architects offers two awards in association with the BAE for students achieving the Overall Best Performance (highest aggregate marks in Design & Theory Subjects) at the Parts I & II of the SLIA Professional Practice Examination.
